Hiatus

Tap a star to rate

Hiatus connects to checking, savings, and credit card accounts through Plaid and combs the transaction history for recurring charges, sorting them by category so streaming services, software, and memberships don’t all blur together in one list. One feature that sets it apart is a spending limit you can apply just to the streaming category, useful for households that keep adding a new service every few months without ever dropping an old one.

The basic tier, which covers detection and categorization, is free. Hiatus Premium costs $9.99 a month or $35.99 a year and adds bill negotiation on top of subscription management. Where some competitors take a percentage of whatever they save you, Hiatus charges negotiation as a flat fee built into the Premium subscription, which can work out cheaper for someone with a few large bills to negotiate and more expensive for someone with only small ones. It suits people who specifically want to rein in streaming costs rather than just get a list of everything they’re paying for.
